Bottled Up

Support for people living with a problem drinker

Welcome to Bottled-up!

So what is Bottled-up?

Is someone else's drinking causing you problems?  Are you fed up with the constant broken promises and disappointments?  Are you feeling isolated and alone, ashamed to talk about what is happening in your life.  Do you dread parties, celebrations and evenings with friends and family?  Have you stopped asking people to your home?  Do you feel as if you are going mad when he says he has not been drinking, even though you can definitely smell booze!  Do you find yourself searching the house, car, garage, garden for bottles.  Do you feel that her drinking now rules your life?

Would you like to go out and talk to someone .... attend a meeting ... go to a seminar ... but are afraid to leave the children with your partner?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the place for you.

Would you like to change your circumstances.  Do you want to save your relationship, reduce the harm caused by alcohol, stop feeling helpless and ashamed and get some answers, then this is the place for you.  Come and join us

What is Bottled-up?

In Bottled-up you will find a program to help you to cope with your situation.  This is a new program and approach that you will not find anywhere else.  It has been put together from the unique knowledge and experiences of the co-authors.

Bottled-up is a website designed to help you.  It is designed to provide you with information and support.

You will find tools, specially written for this website, that will allow you to look at your situation in a quite different way and to plan some possible solutions.

AND you will find people like yourself.  People in the a similar position who understand where you are coming from, what your trials and frustrations are and who are willing to share and listen.

You will find opportunities to make your valuable experience and support available to others.  So that others can benefit from your successes and avoid your mistakes.  You can contribute through the blog, the chat room and forum.

What Bottled-up is not

Bottled-up is not a collection of clichéd, one-size-fits-all type of answers.

Bottled-up is not a trite list of do's and don'ts that you feel is designed to make you feel guilty!  Bottled-up recognises that everyone is different and everybody's situation is different.  Therefore what may be a perfect solution for one may be a disaster for another.

Bottled-up is not designed to get your drinker into a rehab program (if we could do that we would be rich, very very rich!!!).  It is designed to help you to survive, maybe even flourish and as a side effect your drinker may get help.

Bottled-up is not designed to provide a sanctuary to hide from your life (although it will help), it is designed to provide you with the tools to live your life and feel more fulfilled.

Bottled-up is not designed to be a place to spend your time complaining about your drinker (but if you do other members will identify and sympathise).  It is designed to provide practical and pragmatic solutions where you can help each other cope with their present and build a better future.

Bottled-up is not designed to be about a couple of Gurus dispensing their knowledge and wisdom, (although we do have some knowledge and experience of the topic).  It is designed to be a community that helps each other by sharing their experience, their time and their compassion.

If you have any questions click on the button below, if I am online then I will answer immediately.  If I am not online leave a message and I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

Bottled-up is a place where you do not need to bottle it up!
